Indirect Costs

To Whom It May Concern:

The Meat Foundation is a non-profit research, education, and scholarship foundation with a mission to advance scientific understanding, cultivate future leaders, and support continuous improvement in the meat industry. The Foundation’s policy is to pay only for costs directly associated with the project. The Foundation does not pay indirect costs related to permanent equipment, facilities, supplies, personnel and full-time faculty salaries.

Please be aware that, absent statutory prohibitions, any patent rights that derive from the research the Foundation is funding should be identified in the agreement as the property of the Foundation.

If a grant is awarded, semi-annual progress reports will be requested and the information contained therein will be used to update the membership and stakeholders as well as be made publicly available on the Foundation’s website.

Finally, please ensure that any agreement submitted for our review contains a mutual indemnification provision or a provision declaring that your organization carries sufficient liability insurance to protect the Foundation.
