Beef Checkoff
The Foundation is a contractor to the Beef Checkoff to administer post-harvest beef safety research. Foundational, applied research is the focus in this program. Foundation research ranges from interventions to reduce Salmonella or STEC; research on fresh, whole muscle cuts, ground, or ready-to-eat beef products; operational and environmental approaches to enhancing safety; and deepening the understanding of Salmonella in the beef supply to inform mitigation efforts. Additional research priorities will be considered as appropriate for the contract scope.
